PASTOR FREDRICK V. JOHNSON
Pastor Fredrick Johnson is a native of Dallas, Texas. He received his primary education from the Los Angeles Unified School District. Upon completion of high school, he entered the United States Marine Corp and receiving an Honorable discharge after many faithful years of service.
His college education began at Los Angeles Southwest Community College, where he received an A.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2002. He went on to earn a B.A. in Religion from the University of La Verne in 2003. The call to Pastoral ministry became clear to Pastor Johnson during this time of in-depth study and discerning while attending the University of La Verne. His thirst for a greater understanding of church history and a Christological perspective inspired his desire to further his education, allowing him to earn a Master of Divinity degree from Claremont School of Theology (CST)in 2008.
Pastor Johnson received his first Pastoral appointment while attending CST in 2005 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. He served as Senior Pastor at Calvary UMC for nine years, 2005-2013. Following, he served as Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Compton in Compton, California, for three years, 2013-2016. His faithfulness and work ethics to God and Church landed him a full-time dual appointment, serving Faith UMC and Hamilton UMC in Los Angeles, 2016-2017, and now he serves as Senior Pastor of Hamilton UMC, Los Angeles.
He is married to Dr. Tracey Johnson, and they have two daughters, Ariana and Kara.
